Nike Women's Half Marathon - Trip Report - Saturday

Saturday morning we had a tour booked to Alcatraz. We really lucked out with the weather - very sunny and warm. We took the audio tour around the old prison. This is definitely something worth seeing on a trip to San Francisco. After our we got back to Pier 33 we were starving for some lunch, so off to Pier 39 we went. After some clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl Suz and I hung out watching the sea lions sunning themselves and making tons of noise.
After that it was back to Union Square for some shopping, then an early dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant called Aux Delices. I meant to go for my usual noodle bowl with grilled chicken on top, but I was swayed by a glass noodle dish with crab and prawns. It was so yummy....and I would have loved some of the hot chili sauce they had on the side but I figured that wasn't such a good idea... Back to the hotel to get race numbers pinned on, clothes and gear check bags sorted out and time to turn in for an early night.

Mmmm, I love clam chowder in a bread bowl! What a good way to carb up before your race!

I love San Fran so much. I am so jealous you got to go! It looks like you had fun.

Smart on booking Alcatraz early. We didn't and it was booked the whole time we were there so we missed it :(
