You're how old?

So I finally made it home from Walt Disney World Saturday afternoon. We landed to snow flurries and cool temperatures and yesterday was an even better balmy -18 deg C (0 deg F) out. Lovely. When it warms up I may try for a run at some point.

My aim for Sunday was to make Carbonnade Flamande for dinner, a Belgian dish otherwise known as beef in beer. I stopped in at the liquor store to pick up the appropriate brew. When I went to pay the man at the cash register looks me over and asks for my ID.

The drinking age in Alberta is 18. I have never been carded here...

After he looked my ID over he looks at me and proclaims, "You are almost 30!"
Why yes I am....

I haven't been carded in years. It makes me angry, especially when they call me ma'am.

Yes, you read right. I've shelled out the bucks, and I'm in for Goofy 2008. Will you be there?

ahhh 30...it isn't so bad really. People like to make you think that the end of the world is right around the corner after you turn thirty. Been three months now...end of the world is yet to happen.

But being carded when the drinking age is 18...I don't think I got carded in Canada when I was 19. Tell him he needs glasses :-)

I'm secretly happy when I get carded. :)
