This is getting old...

So....my "rah rah" feeling from my great runs on Tuesday and Wednesday has turned into more of a "woe is me" feeling courtesy of this ridiculous cough that seems determined to plague me. It is just as bad as it was back in January/February when I had bronchitis. Maybe it still is bronchitis? All I know is, this is getting old. Rest isn't making it go away and I'm not sure if being active is helping or hurting things. It may not be the smartest thing but I am determined to get my 8 mi run in this weekend. My coworker said something interesting earlier this week about being sick - sometimes you get so tired of resting that you figure you'll just go out running again with the idea being that you will either work this thing out of your system or you'll still feel crappy but at least you were running. I think I like that idea. In the event that the 8 mi run doesn't help to shake this thing off I have a doctor's appointment on Monday in case I need one of those puffer things. And also because another coworker threatened to take me to the doctor herself if I didn't go on my own.

I can sympathize with the cough. I've had two times in the past 10 years or so that I got really sick and had a cough and the cough lasted and lasted...second time I ended up with pleruosy (sp), not fun...that hurt so bad!! I hope it clears up soon!

Seems we're having the same kind of crappy health wise year. Hope you can shake this off quickly!

Be careful! You don't want to turn it into something worse. I think it's a good idea to go to the doc on Monday regardless of how the run goes, just to make sure you don't need antibiotics or anything. Hopefully it will pass soon though..and good luck with your run.

I hope the 8 miler goes well. Be careful with that cough. I am no doctor, but I heard that if its coming from the chest you shouldn't be running. Take care.

Happy Saturday!:)

Oh no! Yucky, yucky, yuck, yuck, yuck! The 8 miler probably isn't a good idea, but your coworker is right, sometimes you just gotta run anyway. Well, I hope you feel better soon. Coughs take FOREVER to go away. I've got my fingers crossed that this is the last of it for you and that you'll be better by the time the weather's better.

Until the weather here got just a little warmer, I was thinking of one of those puffer things also! I know the warmer temps help me. Good luck with the 8 miler….

Ick!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had a 24 km run planned for this weekend past. I made it to 7 km and it just all fell apart. Walked another km and called it a day. Sometimes, the body just doesn't cooperate.

BTW, I've tagged you. :-)
