I've been busy these last few days trying to make some travel arrangements for my upcoming races. I have:
- Booked my flights to Orlando for the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend. I wanted to fly on points so the options weren't terrific, but I at least get two out of four legs in business class for the same number of points as most economy tickets.
- Booked my hotel in Montreal for when I have to overnight there on my way from Calgary to Orlando.
- Booked my hotel in Stony Plain for the weekend of the Great White North Triathlon.
- Investigated hotels for the other 70.3 race I want to do, but still have yet to sign up for.
I may have almost waited too long to book my hotel in Stony Plain. There are only three hotels in Stony Plain and most rooms are sold out, and the few that are available are smoking rooms. I managed to get a two queen bed room with a kitchenette, non-smoking, which is more room than I need, but I figure that is okay. The kitchenette may come in handy to prepare a few meals of my own and not worry about restaurant food causing an issue with my stomach on race day.
As for this weekend, I have a 22 km (13.5 mi) run on tap, along with a 1 to 1-1/2 hour bike ride. The weather is supposed to be amazing today so I may aim to do one of those things today and take Sunday as a rest day. We'll see...

Ooh... you're going for a half ironman? Good for you!
And I think how you feel about Nike weekend is how I will feel when you are at Disney in January. Just too hard to do it all!
Hope your mom kicks butt this weekend!
Oh, too bad you weren't coming through Ottawa!!
Have a great weekend, when is your 1/2 Iron???
Thanks you for your comments on my blog. You are absolutely right!
We booked our Orlando trip for the Goofy Challenge in May (we are such keeners). I am so excited about the race. Sounds like you have lot of things to look forward to in between then and now. Good luck with everything.
I just booked our vacation for the Disney race as well...we are participating with the Joints in Motion team but I am trying to books us a few extra days for the kidlets. Can't wait!

Have a super weekend! :)
Let me know when you are in Montreal, we could have dinner together!! =)
Great! Hopefully, we'll see you again in Disney!
Good for you! I usually plan my travel way far in advance too and try to use points as much as possible. My husband's nickname for me is the Point Princess.
I wish I was going to be in town the weekend of the Disney Marathon to meet you and cheer you on. Sadly, I'm doing another race elsewhere. I'll cheer for you from there, though :-)
