Confession...

Okay, I confess...I did not do my prescribed spinning workout on Sunday. It wasn't because I was lazy, in fact I woke up at 5:30 am! I had some things around the house I needed to do that had long been neglected (like laundry and cleaning the kitchen so my parents won't think I'm a total slob when they get here this week). And I needed to head out to the grocery store. All accomplished by around 9:30 am when I was whisked away to Banff for a day at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. We saw a few amazing movies and a few...not so amazing. My favourite by far was The Last Continent, a documentary about a group of scientists, sailors, film makers and a few others who spent a winter in Antarctica to document the effects of global warming on the area. It was amazingly shot and dealt with the consequences of weather change and how being so isolated for so long can affect you.

Another fantastic movie we saw was The Sharp End which portrayed some pretty amazing climbing. You can see the trailer here:
Otherwise, I discovered that if a mountain biking movie is longer than 15 minutes it is just way too long... After some Mexican food and arriving home around 8:30 I opted to whip up a pot of chili so I could have some lunches set up for the week instead of spinning. So...yeah...unfortunately the workout just didn't happen. Oh well, it was a great day though!

Sounds like you had a fantastic day instead. The workouts will still be there tomorrow!

Don't you find that during your regular exercise/training schedule, there's just not enough time for housework/shopping/etc.? Sometimes you just gotta catch up. :D

Ha, I'm the same way about skiing movies as you are about mtn biking. 15 minutes and I'm totally bored. Then again, perhaps it's because I don't know how to ski well and hate the cold?

Anyway, we all miss workouts, esp. in the off season. Glad you had fun otherwise!

Sounds like fun! Don't be too hard on yourself for missing a planned workout! :)

I don't blame you for taking a day off. Some days are better just chilling.
