A Missed Date

Yesterday I had a 5 mi run on the schedule. Plus I wanted to get a spinning workout in too since I missed it on Sunday and I can't make it to spin class tonight. I couldn't run over lunch as I had a lunch and learn to go to on geological storage of CO2, so it was going to have to happen after work. We got a huge dump of snow on Sunday, but with Monday's forecasted high of 11°C (52°F) I figured that most of the white stuff should go away and not be a factor in Monday night's run. That high never materialized and it only warmed up enough to melt a thin layer of snow. Once it got dark and cooled off that quickly froze and turned sidewalks in to skating rinks. I had meant to leave work at 4 pm and avoid this, but that didn't happen. The when I got home these beauties were waiting for me, so of course I had to try them on. (It is a bit hard to tell, but they are purple.)
After that I got ready in my bright yellow top and a flashing red light. I was ready to run in the dark.
Except I couldn't find my gloves. I searched my house top to bottom for a good twenty minutes just trying to find these gloves. At the end of the day they were in the laundry basket. I finally set out the door and instantly realized that the sidewalks were pretty well iced over. I sighed... Treadmills exist for days like these. By this point in time it was getting pretty late so I just hopped on my bike and ran through my spinning workout. I contemplated hitting the Y afterwards to put some miles on the treadmill but by the time I finished it was already 7:30. I was ready for dinner. So...spinning workout done, but hopefully today over lunch I'll get to make up my missed running date!
