Canucks Sweep!!

I thought it might be a long night as the Canucks and Blues looked destined to head to second overtime, but the Canucks pulled out a win with 14 seconds left to go! Woo hoo!! My favourite team are into round 2!!!

Last night I went to bed a bit earlier and the little bit of extra sleep threw me since I first woke up at 3:17 am?!? I was up and out of bed when the alarm went off and into the pool right on time at 5:40. We ran through an interesting set that alternated 4 x 50 drills and 2 x decreasing 150s. I liked the 50 drills because it was pretty darn easy to hold on, but I'm finding it tough to continually bust my ass on the longer sets and I keep getting dropped. I look at my old lane and I know that lane is too slow for me. I'm just hoping that something clicks and it is going to be less of a struggle to hang on...

I had a mini-debate in my head this evening. Stay home and watch the hockey game or go to spin class? I was good and DVRed the game and took off for spin class. This was our second to last indoor session so that meant another tough workout. We did some gear pyramids, some hard efforts and a 15 minute simulated hilly time trial. Followed by an all out, gut busting session of pace line. I was downing the water but the high heart rate workout meant that my stomach was supremely unhappy with anything I threw in there. Luckily I made it through without an unfortunate incidents though! I hopped off the bike, stretched and skipped core to make it home for the rest of the hockey game.

Alright, time to head off to bed since I have an early morning! Night all!!

Long strokes, not short choppy ones, dig deep, not shallow strokes. When you go to pull, try to touch the bottom of the pool reaching from your armpit and stretch. OK, those are my tips for hanging on today!

Going to spin instead of watching the playoffs? That's passion! :-)

Go Canucks! Great dedication going to spin and recording the game. Sounds like a killer workout too!

Someone here at the bar asked if we could put on the hockey game. I thought of you. Naturally, we didn't get that channel, plus we were watching basketball. Oh, Canadians...

Glad you found my blog. Lake Stevens is a wonderful race to participate in and for spectators.

Last year, it was too warm for the pros to wear wetsuits so you might want to be prepared for that since the race is now 6 weeks later. The weather might be warmer and so will the lake.

I wish I was doing it again this year but with the date changing, it doesn't fit into my plan.

I would love to do it again in 2010.

Happy training for 2009!

I can't believe they made that goal so close to the buzzer. I actually missed it going in and didn't realize they scored until Mike jumped off the couch!

I am not a huge NHL fan, but I do like to hear about the teams that have form SIOUX hockey players on them...

way to make the decision to DVR the game and go to spin. You are strong, woman!
