2307…

Yup, I’ve been pretty quiet lately.  My ride on Saturday was only 120K (did I really just say that it was ONLY 120K???) and it did not go well.  I was pretty demoralized and upset after it was over and I didn’t even upload my workout data off of my Garmin until just now.  Friday morning.  I had a good chat with Angie and my friends about it and the ride is done.  Moving on!

I am a mixed bag of emotions.  I am excited, nervous, ready to barf/cry at the drop of a hat, and somewhat wishing it was August 30th already.  I still have to write up a race plan but I’ve been swamped trying to finish things up at work before I leave on Sunday.  I have a lot of good ideas in my head though.  The most important part is that I want to be smiling and happy.  I have no thoughts on time at all.  I have not done any math in my head on how long things may or may not take and that is how I want to keep it.

It is hard to believe that the race is so close.  Next weekend!  Thanks for all of your great comments along this crazy journey.  It means a lot to me!  I’ll be wearing number 2307 on race day.  Sounds like a good number to me!

Wow, that's my favorite number, most people have small numbers but not me...... In my country that number means good luck.

Well if it is any consolation, when my friend was training for IMLP, she was exactly the same way before the event, really!!! So I sort of know how you're feeling.

Leana, you will do just fine, don't put any added pressure on yourself, just go out there and do what you've trained yourself to do...become Iron!!!

Just like Marlene said, I'm so proud of you too!!!

"excited, nervous, ready to barf/cry at the drop of a hat"

Yeah, that about sums it up. People who ought to know have told me that means you're ready.

I totally know how you feel about the barf/cry at the drop of a hat. Stay positive, you KNOW you've put in the work!

I never like to do time predictions or calculations in my head, I think it's a waste of energy.

Definitely keep smiling...you deserve to have a happy smiling race!

PS I think that's a great number, it's my birthday backwards (kinda)...birthday is 07/23 =)

Leana, you'll be fine. You are more than fit for this race. Ironman is all about executing your day with what you have. Nothing is going to change that. I'm excited for you!! You've got this!

i'm with marlene - this has been a long journey! but a good one, of course. i can't believe the day is almost here. you've worked your a$$ off! i soo can't wait to track you, well i hope that's an option anyway. i know how crazy emotions can get before a marathon - i only imagine it's 10x crazier for an ironman.

As usual, I'm sure your race plan will rock. You have certainly done everything and then some to prepare for this race, so sit back and enjoy it. You're going to do great! Are they going to be doing live updates online?
