I'm currently training for the Minnie Marathon 15K at Walt Disney World on May 6. Training has gone pretty well so far. I've been consistent on getting my training runs in, and I've seen my pace improve over the runs - hurrah!
Last night I got my 5 mile run in. The weather was great and it felt good to run outside. I hit some hills pretty well along the way. I leave for Disney World in a week today - definitely looking forward to my trip! I'm hoping the hot weather won't wreak too much havoc with my run since all my runs have been 65 deg F or below. Not sure how I'll feel in 80 to 90 deg weather!

Leana,
Was happy to be your first Blog Comment yesterday. God knows it will be the first time that I ever finished first in ANYTHING that had to do with running :-) !
Don't worry about the hot weather. Maybe it won't materialize. You can't really do anything about it. All you can do is prepare the best you can, which it sounds like you are doing.
The heat, or one of 1,000 other things you can't control could, and may affect your performance. If it (heat) does, don't let it get you down. If there was a lesson to be learned, learn it. If not, then it was a worthless fluke, and you move on. Do the best you have, with what you've been dealt.........
Disney will be fun. It's about the only place on earth where they can take piles of your cash and make you feel good about it :-) !
A warning on Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge for 08. Maybe you've registered, but if you haven't, it may be full ;-( ! I know I signed up in January, and it was filling up REAL fast. You could still run the 1/2 and the full, separately if it was full. That's quite an ambitious GOAL. I wish you the best with it! Maybe, we will unknowingly be running it "together" along with 20,000 of our closest friends!
Be Good!
Thanks for your comments! That's really exciting that you are doing the Goofy as well. I signed up for the race in February I believe, about 3 days before registration filled up. I couldn't believe how popular it was. I was originally only going to aim for the full, but my mom was keen to walk the half so I volunteered to keep her company. Gulp!
