Wow, I leave for Quebec City tonight and will arrive early tomorrow morning. It is hard to believe that my marathon is this weekend. It still feels really surreal although I do feel ready for the race. I think this is the strongest my running has felt in quite some time. What this will translate in to results-wise...we'll see! I have some thoughts on what I'd like to achieve and I'll tell you afterwards about how I did with regards to my goals. Okay, I'll admit that I'm hoping to beat my last marathon time of 6:21:05..! I won't have access to a computer while I'm out there, and I won't be home until Wednesday evening so it will be a few days before I'll be able to get you folks a report. If you are curious as to how I did, then head over to my friend Angry Runner as he'll post my finishing time for me. I'm looking forward to meeting Sonia and her friends this weekend as well. It promises to be a good trip.

In other terms of being ready for the trip, I am definitely not there! Nothing has been packed. In fact my packing list includes the following items so far:
- Passport
- Paperwork (you know - tickets, maps and such)
- Air Canada Maple Leaf Club card
- iPod (remember to update tunes)
I just need to make it through today at work. I am packing and moving my office and trying to tie up loose ends before I leave, capped off with a 2 hour monthly meeting before the day is through. I got less than 5 hours of sleep last night and I'm still waiting for some caffeine to kick in. I will most likely be fast asleep on the plane before we have even taken off! Anyhow, I've got to run, but wish me luck this weekend!

And, by the way, good luck to all those racing Ironman Canada this weekend. I'll be rooting you on while I'm running on Sunday! Have a great race Susan, Rainmaker and Betsy!

GOOD LUCK!!
I have a feeling you're gonna shatter your previous PR...
Try to have fun with it & I hope the trip as a whole is a good one for you.
Looking forward to the report when you return :)
Good luck with your marathon! I began reading your blog before the Minnie this year, and you've convinced me to start my own...I've also borrowed from you (started recording training at buckeyeoutdoors.com)...and am now training for the Mardi Gras Marathon here in New Orleans 2/1/09. Best of luck again, hope all the training pays off!
Good luck. We're rooting for you!
I bet you're going to smash your previous marathon by at least an hour. You don't have that pesky 1/2 marathon the day before this time!
Good luck, and have fun!
Good luck! I agree with everyone else...that PR is going to fall big time!
I hope you have a fun time and a great time! Looking forward to reading all about it!
GOOD LUCK!
GOOD LUCK LEANA! I am really looking forward to your report.
I have been so inspired by following your training. Now go enjoy the celebration of it - the race!
Best of luck! Make sure you take some time to enjoy the city while you're out there - the 400th anniversary is supposed to be an incredible party.
Thanks Leana!
But more importantly - good luck to you!
I can't wait to hear about the whole trip - and hopefully you'll be able to fill out that packing list a bit more...otherwise it may be a bit of a short trip. :)
Rock it!
I'm looking forward to hearing the finer details of this marathon - have a great time.
good luck...I would say it in French but my Quebecois is awful.
Good Luck!
Run that new PR to the ground like a Kenyan hunting an antelope.
After hammering down that Tri, this hsould be no problem. :)
Best of luck!
I'm sure you'll run considerably faster than last time. Goofy is just that, about having fun and just finishing. This time you can do more :-)
Good Luck on your race !!
I have recently started reading your blogs, it's definitely inspiring. Keep it up.
GOOD LUCK!!!
I've heard that the key to a blisteringly-fast marathon is NOT stopping to have your picture taken with dozens of Disney characters. Was that part of your race plan? Good. Now go get 'em!!!
Woohoo!! looking forward to the RR. I am sure you will do awesome!
I can't wait to hear how you did! I keep checking my watch!
5:11...Not bad! Especially with how hot it was. ( I'm from the North East US so Quebec is maybe 5-10 degrees F colder.)
Bravo! Bravo! Leana =) Good job on finishing your 2nd marathon!!
I know it wasn't the race you wanted but the heat was cruel and the lack of shade in the last 14K left for a pretty awful finish.
It was great to meet you and your Mom. I'm gald we had the chance to hang out for a bit on Saturday.
Good luck on your next adventure ;-)
